Leave Hammersmith tube by the 'Broadway' exit and cross the Broadway by the crossing to the right - you should be opposite a small cafe called Cafe Creme. Take the road going north that sits to the right of the cafe and Lloyd's Bank) - Shepherd's Bush Road. Anyone who's been to School Disco will recognise it. Keep going, past the fire and police stations, until you see the Brook Green Hotel on your left and a small park on the right. Take the road on the right that runs along the south side of the park - the Queen's Head is a couple of minutes' walk down there.
This pub looks tiny from the outside but appearances are deceiving - it's enormous on the inside. This is another old coaching inn, so there's a long history of the pub on the menu and plenty of copper stuff. The pub used to be owned by Chef & Brewer but it's now a good Fuller's pub serving all of their standard ales at the bar (Pride, Seafarers, ESB and Honey Dew and HSB from George Gale & Co) and all are well kept. The pub operates a good, fair-priced menu with a regularly changing list of specials. The fish and chips are well worth a look. The higgledy-piggledy nature of the pub's labrynthine interior adds to the charm but there's something about the place which stops us from calling it cosy. Perhaps it's the quality furnishing, lack of nick-nacks or general upmarket and smart look about the place. Worth a look on a warm day too, as the beer garden is one of the largest in town. It can get busy on weekday lunches when the sun is out though.

We just had a fantastic birthday party here and everybody had such a great time. From the outside you would not believe how large the place is and what a great beer garden it hides at the back. Food and service were superb and I'm sure we were not the most modest or easiest crowd to please. A big thank you to everybody for making the day such a great success and I'm sure we will still be talking about it for a long time - apart from the fact that a lot of us will be returning time and time again. A great place to be.

It is easy to believe you are receiving poor service if you don't read the signs clearly stating to order at the bar and then be seated. The food is fantastic and the people are wonderful, don't be scared away by the other reviews...if nothing else go in and at least try the crispy fish and chips as they are phenomenal!!! You won't be disappointed.

Save your money and time for elsewhere. This pub looks everything it's not. A quaint and very traditional venue that says everything about typical country English pubs which we love. However, getting served is a serious mission and once you order from the somewhat hap- hazardly priced menu the food is extremely disappointing. Don't complain though as it will fall on deaf ears.
It's not all bad though as there are plenty of other very nice pubs in this area which will serve your rightly and leave you and your pocket smiling!!

Wonderful food. Never fails to exceed my expectations. Though the bar staff in general to to betrained to smile and communicate with customers.Upon walking in on a Sunday lunch time we were greeted by a bar person walking away from us and having a conversation and then serving someone else.
The lady taking our order was not able to smile either nor was she very enthusiastic about being there. Sorry it is not the customers' fault that you have to work there.
However our faith was restored by the chef and a single member of staff that was very friendly.
All in all a great place.Great food, but staff needs to learn what customer service is all about.
