picture of White Hart
A confession - until we stumbled into the White Hart, we were completely unaware of the Brunning and Price chain of pubs. In our defence though, it's not entirely surprising we had overlooked them until now as they're based predominately in the North West and it's only comparatively recently they have opened four pubs in these parts. And, thanks to a wilful satnav, we encountered a fine example of their chain for the first time recently. Situated just outside of Sevenoaks on the Tonbridge road, the White Hart is a huge, beautifully-maintained, old building, surrounded by a beer garden on three sides. The interior is dominated by a large bar, which features sets of six hand pumps dispensing an interesting and ever-changing range of ales. In addition to Brunning and Price's own bitter, there are such delights as Hogback's - literally stunning - A over T (9.0%ABV) and many other old favourites, too numerous to mention. The gas-propelled beers are also unusual and interesting. The wine list is very impressive, with a large selection on offer (about thirty of which are available by the glass). The food is rather good too, local produce, freshly prepared, well presented and reasonably priced, served by friendly, prompt and attentive people. Although open plan, the pub is divided into a number of distinct areas, a couple of them featuring fireplaces with log-burning stoves, so whether you're here to drink, dine or socialise, there's a space that should suit the mood. In addition to the excellent fare, with board games, the aforementioned beer garden (complete with kiddies play area) and a beer and banger festival, the White Hart is truly a top class all-rounder. If all Brunning and Price pubs are like this, we're surely in for a treat when we visit the rest.

Absolutely Fantastic pub, has everything you need, Great Beers, Wines & Ciders along with cracking good food. The thing that makes this pub worth travelling to is the staff, the service is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. If that is not enough for you blokeys then let me tell you that behind that bar you will find the hottest barmaids this side of Texas So head down there and speak to Chris (Grand Fromage), Oli, Beccie, Alex or Phoebe and tell em His Lordship sent you ;-)
